Some good stuff today!
- Plasma charger shots now glow blue instead of white
- Fixed pumpkins on zombies during October and halloween (for real this time)
- Began work on the snow level!
 - Previously, I had planed that this would be a parkour or mountainous area. I still may place the map on top of a mountain, however, as I want to carry over the AI from BP into Homelands (for zombies wielding weapons) I feel that it would be much better if there was an arena designed like a standard "firefight" map
- I finally made a new "master material" that most materials from this point onward will be instances of

As for what I said yesterday: I have began to make a plan for restarting. instead of totally restarting, I am going to:
- Completely rebuild the player and all entities from the ground up
- Completely rebuild the inventory and item systems from the ground up
- Partially migrate all materials to be instances of the master material

This way, a vast majority of the things I have made will not need to be reconfigured or anything silly. For instance, I won't need to recreate every LOD and it's settings. What I'll do is just backup the game once I tidy it up and release it, take the current version, delete those things mentioned, and start from there. I'll be doing the player first since that will allow me to play test the game.

Just engineering some explosions, don't mind me

I learned how to manually import and display 3D models in Raylib. One of the textures has a transparent part, which cuts through the mesh behind it because of the way OpenGL rendering works. I was told that I need to implement an alpha-discard shader but I have no idea where to even start with making my own shaders from scratch.

Redid my entire material landscape setup and switched to a manual version opposed to an auto material as I ended up deciding I want more control. Additionally I set it up to blend based off of height information (from height textures exported from substance designer). Still tweaking it a bit, but you can see at the edge of the grass to dirt it has somewhat of a blend that isn't solely a gradient (those dirt edge specksssssss). Also to fix the tree issue I had, I'm planning to just take the houdini tree asset I had and slap it into unreal where I can just paint the trees in.

Today I Modeled, Rigged, and animated a mech enemy for Echos of Babylon, a mech game I'm working on with some buddies. This is my first time rigging and animating without automatic weights so don't judge me if it looks wonky :P

​While in the past, most of the time spent working on this project was strictly on player driven actions and what they can do with the characters they have mechanically. I have had different ideas floating in the back of my mind about what the general progression and and world structure would look like. A lot of these ideas that I have had were either ambitious or lacked clarity. It wasn't until recently that a clear idea came to mind. For now I will not spill exact details but I can provide information on one of the systems that serves as one of the pieces to the puzzle. This system is a bonfire system that is mostly seen in souls-like games. Though with some modifications. The main modification to this system is that when resting at a bonfire it does not immediately reset enemies, if an area is left alone for a set period of time then all the enemies associated to that area is reset. The Idea behind this is to give a sense that the player is spending the night at the bonfire and only resuming operations the following day and that areas do not change drastically over night. Some other things that I would like for this system to be able to do in the future is allow the player to craft consumables and cook food to apply temporary buffs to the party for the next day.

It's been a long while since I last posted, but here's my first ever 3D model! I may use this in a future game or so, but for right now it's just really nice to look at. The sword itself was modeled directly after my own wooden sword that I own, as for the textures I added my own flair to it with my signature on the hilt and some bloodstains (or ketchup if you're hungry) on the blade! I had a lot of fun over this long assignment :D

I've *mostly* reworked my grabbing system.  I removed the IK animation for now but grabbing is now extendible without affecting anything downstream.  Naturally a ton of random stuff broke, especially the pizza which I'll refactor later (I had pizzas technically "grab" the ingredients you threw onto them).  I made a showoff video but Discord lowered their size limit from 25 to 10mb!  This might mark the end of the Pizza game (debug) videos 🍕 😭

Yesterday I began work on our club project. Specifically, I worked on getting a player-selection mechanic to work right away because that was an issue with our last project. The user-facing menu is very temporary (we will probably want cursors to select your character for example), but the backend is set up to be able to handle that
