organized my blueprints and started using events :')

Got a pretty nice movement system that includes sprinting, jumping, and sliding in unreal today. Apparently blueprints are the way to go because they're more efficient(?) and there's much more documentation on them than unreal c++ scripting. Still, coming from a general coding background, visual scripting is a rough transition. I don't know if I should be changing the way i approach scripting in general bc right now it just feels like im writing code with scratch blocks... and that doesn't feel very efficient. I also have to learn how to organize my blueprints lol

also with the slide, i made it to where you basically have to 'recharge' your momentum boost so that you can't just spam it as seen in the video

Two days ago i made the difficult decision to restart progress on my game and move from Unity to Unreal engine. I figured that the more complex my game got, the more I would wish I was using a more intuitive engine. I didn't want to wait until I thought it was too late, so I bit the bullet and started learning Unreal 5 two days ago. The whole reason I decided to begin developing my game now as opposed to waiting was because I felt comfortable enough in Unity to put all my effort into creating rather than learning. With a new engine, it will probably be a while before I feel confident enough to start making substantial progress again. I may make a short video on the transition between engines once I feel like I've learned Unreal 5 to the point where I can get back to where I was in unity. Until then!
