physics update: simplified the code SIGNIFICANTLY, i was experimenting to see which vector equation would work best for blending gravity and just getting the avg vector using the number of non-zero values on each axis worked for avg counts. Im now realizing how much of a challenge optimization is gonna be for many rigidbodies. I have to work on finding a balance between physics update rate (time step) and performance. Recently found out about GPU instancing to lighten the CPU load by a lot so ima see how I can integrate that after I finish the physics. Now, I'm going to try and properly blend the strength of the different gravities depending on the distance an object is from the gravity emitter's mesh's nearest vertex (might melt pc), that way, the objects wont just be attracted to a general direction or the center of the mesh 🙂

currently doing a complete physics overhaul so that gravity works more like outer wilds rather than only going up or down, made a test scene in the meantime

some menu ideas (procrastinating level design rn)

currently going back to the drawing board with my game to properly incorporate the resource-management aspect into the level design. for now, i decided to do a lil branding (its so fun) and create some logo varients to use for the current main menu although it might change in the future

ON | its starting to hit that there really isnt that much time left, i think i figured out how to logically implement my main mechanic so ima start coding b4 i get sleepy

finished setting up most materials, gotta fix some meshes with broken lighting, and now have to code the game logic 🙂

last update b4 I get some sleep 🥱 , i have the bare minimum working which is wayyy farther than ive ever gotten in a game jam on day 1, pretty exciting. tmw is the bulk of the work 🙂
